In Pictures: York Holiday Cottage Photography
Back at the beginning of the year we had the pleasure of photographing this lovely holiday cottage, right in the city centre of York. It had been beautifully restored and updated (I'd actually photographed it when it was for sale in its dilapidated state) and transformed into a great holiday let in the perfect location for exploring York. Honestly, it is the kind of space that would make someone want their own holiday home, be it one of the houghton lake mi homes for sale or in the York area.
Styled in a laid back country style, yet impeccably detailed and bursting with charm and character there were lots of lovely details to discover. The front rooms were bathed in gorgeous winter sunlight but the rooms at the back of the holiday cottage weren't as lucky and needed careful lighting set ups to keep them looking as bright and airy as the front rooms. Lighting was also carefully added (and subtracted) to pick out details around the property. Visitors tend to be less interested in room sizes and more interested in a home that looks cosy, inviting and interesting. Keeping crops tight might not make rooms looks as large as shooting super wide but this trade off is well worth it when shooting for holiday homes. Think about when you last booked a place to stay, was it because the rooms appeared to look really big and empty or was it because it looked like a beautiful and interesting place to stay?
It's really important the photographs do justice to the holiday cottage. Visitors will be comparing the property with many others online and the quality of photographs not only helps to demonstrate what holiday makers can expect of the property but also adds to their perception of the care taken by the owners in all aspects of their stay. The photographs will be used to market the holiday home for years to come and make a worthwhile investment. Indeed, a quick check of the booking calendar reveals it's almost completely booked up for the next few months!
If you fancy a stay here, why not check it out for yourself over on Airbnb if you can find some availability that is!
