As his personal residence, this property developer was keen to show off his recently finished home to use on his website. He wanted the photographs to portray how the home had been improved through the contemporary extension and interiors. Outside/inside spaces, while often extremely important to a property, are generally difficult to photograph. Balancing light between the spaces inside and out requires a great deal of care and experience. Often this can be done by selecting the time of day to shoot, but equally there are occasions when sunshine is demanded or the shoot schedule does not allow for flexibility in the timing of the shots. Here the client was keen to have photographs taken in daytime so that you could see the south facing garden at its best. We were able to carefully introduce artificial light to the internal spaces to help bring their light levels closer to that of the garden.
