We were commissioned to photograph this quaint apartment in York city centre by a local painter & decorator to help him showcase his work. We were able to take interiors shots that showed off the quality of his work for use on a website and as an advert in a magazine. As an interiors photographer, the main challenges here were to create photographs that were interesting to look at but also served a purpose. Lighting had to be carefully controlled to give an accurate representation of colour and tone whilst still rendering the images in a pleasing manner. Strong colours have a tendency to give unflattering colour casts in the rest of the room so balancing natural and added light was very important here.
